As of this week, I am now part of American Biz, Inc. They are a company that buys and sells business, seeks investors for business opportunities, builds and sells computers, and web design. We have a new office at NE 32nd Street and A1A.
One of my first projects that I am heading up is the re-design of Dirty South Radio. The site is getting tons of traffic and is not even optimized. Its current success is on popularity alone, and we plan on taking full advantage of this traffic to make money off of it. We are also in the process of creating a new blog and a separate store front to sell his t-shirts.
My personal web site will remain as the main marketing vehicle to promote American Biz products and services. Stay tuned for more updates.

Does the frequency of your blog posts matter? I’d have to say that frequency does matter. To realize any benefit from your blog, you should make at least one short post per day of about 250 words. First, it tells search engines that this is a frequently updated blog which se’s love. Second, you want to have your readers keep coming back for more on a daily bases.
My favorite blog is www.cheezhead.com, and this is a model blog for anyone that wants to start a blog. After having his first recruiting blog on TypePad, he decided to create Cheezhead in 2006 as a standalone brand. Since then, he has one the Recruiting.com Blog Awards and as a result of that signed a two year sponsorship deal with JobCentral.com.

It’s September 10th and there I am again, driving North on the New Jersey Turnpike towards Kenilworth (this time). This is the first day of eight over the next three weeks at a company in this town off exit 11 and up the Garden State Parkway, interspersed with a couple days in Maryland, two in Connecticut and one in Manhattan. Three weeks of constantly being on the go, being busy conducting seminars and consulting.
Team Building is the topic for this day, with four more to follow. How to build effective and efficient teams, communicate better, know your and your team members strengths and weaknesses, delegate, motivate and of course have some fun along the way.

Free Spam Blocker Software Akismet is a WordPress plugin which identifies and blocks comment and trackback spam on blogs with integration to various blogging systems. Akismet checks your comments against the Akismet web service to see if they look like spam or not. You need a WordPress.com API key to use it. You can review the spam it catches under “Comments.â€
I downloaded and installed this free spam blocker software in HR Horizons blog, and it caught over 3,500 comment spam. Two hours after I installed the software, I logged back in and I was amazed at how much comment spam it caught. As a result, I noticed a drastic reduction of crap in my inbox. Even though I don’t care about my HR Horizons blog, since I’m only keeping it live for traffic purposes. It just goes to show that the more traffic your site generates, the more comment spam it attracks, but there is a tool out there to fight it.
To get the WordPress API key, sign up for an account at WordPress.com. During the sign up process, it will ask whether you want to create a blog or just get a password. If you have your own WordPress blog, then choose the “just get a password” option. Your API key is located under the profile tab.
Then to configure the Akismet Free Spam Blocker Software, follow these steps:
- Just copy this API key,
- go back to your blog administrative panel,
- select “plugins”,
- select “Akismet Configuration”
- paste the API key in the textbox provided.
That’s it! You are on your way to fighting comment spam.

Magazines and other subscription sites are notorious for selling your personal information to sites such as ZabaSearch. Do you want to avoid getting hit by those spammers? Guerrilla Mail offers temporary email accounts that last for only 15 minutes. So lets say that you go to a website and subscribe to a magazine, or to a shopping site, and you don’t want to give them your real email address. You can sign up for a temporary one at Guerrilla Mail. Go back to the site and do your business within 15 minutes. You will begin to frustrate businesses who like to spam their customers with bad email addresses.
