Field studies are conducted widely in business schools in the United States for the sole pupose to provide the maximum opportunity to learn. As many employers can relate, what you learn in a training program, you must be able to transfer to the job. It provides a unique educational opportunity that allows you to apply what you are learning in the classroom to a real life problem. The field study becomes your working laboratory.

This form of study is being used at my alma mater, Hawaii Pacific University. It usually takes the form of a course project that represents a major portion of your grade for the course. This type of project also culminates with a formal written report in APA style format.

MBA Field Studies: A Guide For Students and Faculty is a MUST have for any graduate. Whether you are entering graduate school for the first time, or are currently enrolled, this book will help you in succeeding in graduate school. MBA Field Studies: A Guide For Students and Faculty was also required reading in many of the graduate classes at HPU.
